🔒 PassVault — Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 19, 2026

Overview

PassVault is a local password manager Chrome extension. Your privacy is our top priority. This policy explains what data PassVault collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

Data Collection

PassVault collects only one type of data: Authentication information (website passwords, usernames/emails, and associated domain names). This data is provided voluntarily by the user when they choose to save a password.

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in local storage API (chrome.storage.local). No data is ever transmitted to any server, cloud service, or third party.

Data Sharing

PassVault does not share, sell, transfer, or transmit any user data to any third party, server, or external service. There are no analytics, tracking, telemetry, or network requests of any kind.

Data Usage

The collected authentication data is used solely for the extension's single purpose: to save and autofill website login passwords on the user's device.

Data Deletion

Users can delete individual passwords or all stored data at any time through the extension's Settings page. Uninstalling the extension permanently removes all stored data.

Permissions

Remote Code

PassVault does not use any remote code. All JavaScript, CSS, and assets are included in the extension package.

Children's Privacy

PassVault does not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
